Ophthalmic Assistant

  • 6 month Evening Course (starts each January and July) Application
    • For uncertified technicians or for students new to ophthalmology

Ophthalmic Technician

  • 6 month Modular Evening Course (starts each January) Application
    • For current Certified Ophthalmic Assistants
  • 1 year Full Time Clinical Course (starts each July) Application
    • For students new to ophthalmology

Basics of Ophthalmology and Scribing

  • Self paced online course (rolling start) Application
    • For anyone!

Ophthalmic Assisting & Ophthalmic Technician Course Requirements

  • Official transcripts mailed by the registrar of all education including both high school and any college or university you have attended to the attention of the Program Director
  • One reference letter/form
  • 1-page personal statement stating why you have decided to pursue this program at this time
  • Resume or CV
  • Official results of TOEFL Examination for students whose first language is not English
  • Name of office/ophthalmologist under which you will complete clinical hours OR application for our optional clinical rotations
  • Proof of health insurance and required immunizations if attending optional clinical rotations
  • Completed, signed, and initialed application
  • A non-refundable application fee of $50 due by May 31st for July start (Fall semester) or November 30 for January start (Spring semester). Late application fee after those dates is $100
