Ophthalmic Assistant

  • 6 month Hybrid Evening Course (starts each January and July) Application
    • For uncertified technicians OR
    • For students new to ophthalmology (clinical rotations required)

Basics of Ophthalmology and Scribing

  • Self paced online course (rolling start) Application
    • For anyone!

Ophthalmic Assisting Course Requirements

  • Official transcripts mailed by the registrar of all education including high school and any secondary school you have attended
  • One reference letter/form
  • 1-page personal statement stating why you have decided to pursue this program at this time
  • Resume or CV
  • Official results of TOEFL Examination for students whose first language is not English
  • Name of office/ophthalmologist under which you will complete clinical hours OR application for our clinical rotations
  • Proof of health insurance and required immunizations if attending clinical rotations
  • Completed online application and application fee
